Have a unique experience on living
in a traditional windmill in
Almiropotamos, Evia. All the
windmills are fully furnished (fully-
equipped kitchen, TV, hairdryer, wi-
fi, safe box, fridge, air- conditioner)
and they are only 50 metres away
from the beach. There are also
studio appartments in the same
facility, with the exact same
equipment.
Evia is the second biggest
island in Greece and the sixth
biggest island in the
Mediterranean sea. The
island is 3.654 square km
long, along the north-east
land of Greece, reaching from
Maliakos Gulf to Rafina shore
and divided by the Evian
Sea. The climate is generally
mild and salubrious,
something that contributes to
the luxuriant vegetation and to
the natural beauty of the area.
Almiropotamos
The name of the village comes
from a strange natural
phenomenon. The sea water is
blending with the fresh water
of the river and it springs from
the mountainsides and returns
to the sea again.
In order to get to Almiropotamos, it takes 40 minutes from the Eleftherios
Venizelos Airport to the Agia Marina port in Marathonas with a car. From
there, you can take the ferry boat to Nea Stira or to Almiropotamos. The
ferry trip lasts 40 minutes and it takes 5-10 minutes to get to
Anemomilous(Windmills) from the port.
